Description
Silent Explorer is a traditional
Canadian canoe designed by
Selway-Fisher
and hand crafted in the UK by Chippendale Craft from 6mm cedar strip
plank sheathed inside & out with glass cloth & resin for strength with
seating for up to four adults. A 24 volt Minn-Kota Riptide 74 motor
is installed as a "steerable pod" and controlled remotely from a tiller stick located beside the skipper
to provide outstanding manoeuvrability, A twist-grip forward and reverse
speed control gives slick performance with a top speed of 9kph. Power is provided by four
60AH deep-cycle batteries arranged
as two independent banks with separate isolator switches. A dual
function digital panel meter displays battery voltage & motor current
consumption. The craft includes a portable automatic battery
charger, two
stowage lockers and buoyancy tanks fore & aft. |
