Description

Silent Explorer is a traditional Canadian canoe designed by Selway-Fisher and hand crafted in the UK by Chippendale Craft from 6mm cedar strip plank sheathed inside & out with glass cloth & resin for strength with seating for up to four adults.  A 24 volt Minn-Kota Riptide 74 motor installed as a "QM2 style steerable pod" and remote controlled from a tiller stick located beside the skipper provides outstanding manoeuvrability, A twist-grip forward and reverse speed control gives slick performance up to a top speed of 9kph.  Power is provided by four 60AH deep-cycle batteries arranged as two independent banks with separate isolator switches.  A dual function digital panel meter displays battery voltage & motor current consumption.  The craft features button upholstered cushions, two stowage lockers, buoyancy tanks fore & aft. and includes a portable automatic battery charger
